High-roller deal for Melbourne’s Crown

The Mahogany Room at James Packer’s Melbourne Casino, Crown was yesterday given approval to expand. This is great news for the casino as it is the VIP or high roller room where bets on casino table games can rise up to $300k a bet!At the same time, approval was given for smoking in the room – it seems once again that money really does talk. Peter Cohen, the Victoria Gambling head-honcho saw no issue with the plan proceeding.Overall the deal looks to be win, win for the casino industry, it’ll create more jobs, provide more funding for the rest of the casino and will most likely increase tourism to Australia from the sort of people we want to visit the country – i.e. huge, wealthy gamblers!
