Packer Plans New Casino in Double Bay

James Packer is once again planning to open another casino and this time it’s not Vegas or Macau he has his eye on – it’s somewhere much closer to home! Packer is planning a new luxury casino in the up market Sydney suburb of Double Bay – the site he plans to use is the old Ritz hotel building.

The plan is to leave the building as it is and refurbish it to high standards and use it as the latest Packer Casino. However, it seems the state authorities may yet have the final word on whether the project will definitely go ahead… Currently NSW law dictates that the state can only give out one Casino license, currently we all know this license is owned by the Star City Casino in Darling Harbour – its unlikely Star City will ever relinquish their license, so Packer’s hopes rest on changing state policy.

Luckily we Aussie punters that live in NSW can always play online until that second license becomes available.
