Complaint against online betting site

The Australian newspaper has reported that an online betting site, which is endorsed by Shane Warne, has had a complaint made against it.
A spokesman for the Australian Communications and Media Authority has confirmed that the online gambling site 888sport may have contravened the Intregrated Gambling Act.
Although the site uses Shane Warne to advertise their business there is no suggestion that he is aware of the site’s legal status.
It is not known what the complaint is about and the site, which was operating on Tuesday morning taking bets for racing in Victoria and NSW, suddenly went offline on Tuesday afternoon.  This is said to be only a temporary measure.
The site, which is believed to be owned by the London Stock Exchange listed company 888 Holding PLC, was said to be temporarily unavailable by a spokesman for the company.
The business uses Shane Warne on the site’s home page, which features a large photo of the cricketer together with an Australian flag.  A link on the site gives a history of Shane’s career as well as news and pictures of him actually playing poker.
