Crown Casino has come in for some much needed publicity this week with the star tof the Aussie Millions Poker tournament.
This year we’ll see 1143 entrants, meaning that the prize pool will be $1,143,000 and the winner will get a huge $200,000. Amongst the sharks in the tournament is Aussie WSOP champ Joe Hachem. The early chip leader is Nick Naidaris.
The Aussie Millions is a great tournament that generates great worldwide publicity for Australia and tourist income. It’s also great for the country to have a world class poker event – especially seeing as there are so many poker fans over here.
The Crown Casino in Melbourne is the ideal location and always attracts positive reviews from everyone who attends the event from overseas. It gives us Aussies the chance, once again, to show how great we are at hosting international events and also shows the rest of the world the enthusiasm for gambling there is down under.

The casino that James Packer has built has posted two-digit growth for the first time since the worldwide credit crunch hit, The Age Newspaper has reported.
There was a huge 14% increase in revenue for the past three months which meant the casinos earned 4.9 billion Aussie dollars – this means that revenue is up 50% on the same period last year. All this means that shares in Packer’s Macau company have risen a massive 48% from the previous year.
This is good news for the Aussie owned company and also signals the huge growth in the Macau – an area that has quickly become the largest land-based gambling destination on earth.
Personally I have never been – if any Aussies out there have been – please drop us a line and let us know what you think of the place.
