Has the Credit Crunch finally got to the Australian Gambler?Posted on Monday Mar 23 0:00:00 GMT 2009 Has the Credit Crunch finally got to the Australian Gambler? Surely not I hear you say, Aussie gamblers cannot be stopped! But believe it or not, research by the Australian Casino Association towards the end of last year showed that land based Casino revenues finally stopped growing. It seems that, much like the the situation in Aussie pubs and bars, the numbers of people going to Casinos has not dropped, but seems they are spending less – a sure sign of the impact of the global financial crisis affecting us Australians too. Chris Downey, who heads up the Australian Casino Association, has stated that the halt in growth is simply down to a mature gambling market place… However we have another opinion here at Casino Trading Post – could it be that Australian Casino punters are getting their fix online these days?? Oh no, silly us that can’t be right, online operators aren’t allowed to offer their product to Australian players are they?! |
