An unlikely consortium made up of Newsagents has made an audacious bid to become the new owners of the NSW lottery.

The lottery business is being sold by the state government and as the lottery and newsagents go hand in hand – it appears the shop owners association are taking action to ensure that the lottery will always be at the forefront of their business by buying it…

In many ways the move makes sense as much as 85% of ticket sales from the lottery are made at news agent – it’s just not that you would ever think their would be a collective of newsagents big enough to buy the NSW state lottery!
