How to Play Baccarat:

Baccarat is certainly one of the easier casino games available to play and nowadays you can find this popular game in nearly all of the online casinos. In Baccarat, you are not involved with the card game but simply choose to bet on the banker, the player or a tie between the two. It’s as simple as that.

Your overall object in Baccarat is to wager on either the house or player with cards that add up closest to an overall sum of 9. Various cards have different card values, they are as such:

  • All Ace cards = 1
  • All cards from 2 through 9 counts as face value
  • All 10’s, Jacks, Queens and Kings = 0

However, you need to be aware that if you are dealt with an 8 and a 7 as your first two cards, then your Baccarat total would not be 15, it would in fact be 5. Same as if you were dealt with a 9 and a 2, the total would not be 11 but actually a 1. Put in other words, you cannot have a hand total that is greater than 9. The natural/perfect hand totals are 9 (2 cards adding up to 9) and then secondly a hand total of 8.

Rules of Bacarat:

On the whole, Baccarat rules are fairly simple and shouldn’t take long to get to grips with. The game begins with 2 cards being dealt to both the player and the house, if either of the hands come to a total of 8 or 9, this is called a “natural” and no more cards are issued. If the two hands are of the same total then a “tie” is called. The game progresses further when the house and player hands do not add up to a “natural” or a tie occurs. In this case, the following scenarios can take place:

  • If the player’s initial hand comes to a total of 6 or greater – he/she must stand and no more additional cards will be dealt.
  • Player has 5 or less – player receives an additional card.
  • If house hand totals 7 or more then house must stand.
  • House hand adds up to 0, 1 or 2 – an additional card must be taken by the house.
  • If house total is equal to 3, and player’s third card is anything other than an 8 (player always receives cards before house) – house will then hit for another card.
  • If the house hand adds up to 4 and players third card is anything other than a 1, 8, 9, or 0 the house will then hit for another card.
  • If house hand totals 5, and then a 4, 5, 6 or 7 is then dealt to the player – house will then hit.
  • Lastly, if the house hand adds up to 6 and the players’ third card is 6 or 7 – the house will then hit for another card.

Tips/Strategy for Baccarat:

Baccarat seems to be one of the most appealing casino games, and here’s what people boil it down to…

1)     House has an especially low edge

2)     Strategy is of a bare minimum, so you don’t have to remember excessive amounts of information and tips!

3)     Essentially an easy and simple game to get to grips with.

Lastly, many people say, considering the house edge on each of the three bets (banker, player and tie), the only wise bet is on the banker.
